DIY YARN BRAIDED GIFT TAGS

You’ll only need four supplies to craft these yarn earrings — and one of them is a scissors. The heart shape makes a great Valentine’s Day look — and an equally cheery motif for a date or any other time when you want your look to say, “Love wins!”

The next time you have to make a kid's birthday gift tag, keep it simple but try this braided technique with colourful yarn.

I used a 2 1/2" circle punch to make the tag shapes on card stock paper (I chose fun, vibrant patterns from various paper pads including llamas and unicorns!)
To give my yarn enough room to fit through the hole of the tags, I used a hole punch with a 1/4" opening.
For each tag, cut three pieces of yarn to about one foot. Run them through the hole of the tag and braid away to desired length (about 3"). Tie the ends together.
Add the initial(s) of the recipient to the tag with puffy glitter letter stickers.
Then tie the gift tag to the same yarn wrapped around a present!
Simple, colourful, but festive too. I hope you enjoyed this project.
Happy crafting!
